The necessity of the score sheet is very obvious, it is to record the scores of each player in a bowling game. By recording the scores of each player, the calculation of a winner will be easier to be done and will be fair as well. In the official tournaments of bowling, the scores will usually not only be recorded in a score sheet but will also be displayed in an electronic score board. It is useful for the audience to find out who is leading and who the strongest competitor is.
When you take a look at the bowling score sheet, you will see the set of rows and columns. Within the columns, you can see that there will be names of players, total score columns and the maximum score columns on the rows of each players. Each player of a bowling game will also have ten columns that explain the detail score made by each player in every round of the game. Every player in a bowling game will receive their own score sheet that will be filled one by one as the game flows.
Putting names in the columns of names will be necessary as starter. The rest of columns indicating scores will be filled one by one in every round. The score in each round will be counted according to how much of bowling pins taken down by the players. If a player sweeps away all pins, then he will gain a strike that will be symbolized with “X” mark in the score sheet. If a player completed the pins in two occasions like you hit 7 at the first try and hit 3 at the second try, there will be “7” you type in the first box and “/” added to the second score. For several MIcrosoft Excel version, hitting “/” in keyboard won’t show you the sign. You need to select it from respective drop down list.

If you want to just extend the scoresheet to cover more than four players, just copy the box and paste it somewhere else. Remember to copy also two rows behind the boxes. It contains dummy formulas to calculate particular scores.
